Jumping In With Both Feet

I'm very new to the world of motor homes, while I've towed many of them of all sizes that have broken down over the years this is the very first time I have owned or operated one of my own.

I retired from the US military after twenty years and operated my own business for the last thirty years and I think I might just be starting to back out of it all but I'm still not ready to retire yet.

I originally was going to buy a 2004 Monaco Dynasty in California but after my wife and I flew out with a ton of extra luggage for the trip back let's just say the purchase did not go as planned once we got to the coach. We rented a car and drove from San Francisco to LA where my son lives and bought a 2006 Pace Arrow there.

We're going to make a "quick dodge the snow flakes" trip to Baltimore for a tow show the third week in November then come back home and lock it away for the rest of the winter, the under body of this unit is like new and I refuse to be the one to operate it in all our road salt we have every winter here.

My shop has a huge front yard that has had many a coach parked overnight in it and your welcome to use it any time free as long as you pick up after yourselves. The address is in the link above right off the US41 bypass.

Wow, big difference between a DP Dynasty and a Pace Arrow gasser. Must be a very interesting story behind that. Maybe someday we'll meet around the campfire and you can fill me in on the details.

In the meantime, welcome to IRV2! In general, I've found the folks here to be amoung the friendliest of the forums I follow. Got any question or comment, there will be lots of help and opinions. Some of it may even help!

Know what you mean about the winter roads and salt. I hope we are able to beat it back to our home, in central WI, too. We plan to be in the Carolinas the first three weeks of November, then it's home to put the rig into hibernation for the duration of the annual mini ice age.

Happy trails...

Hi, small world!

One of my intentions will to be tow it behind me on a custom built aluminum single axle tilt bed trailer But first I have to get it back together

I don't think I'll be forgetting the story anytime soon!

Thank you for the welcomes.
