Just bought our first RV!

Yeah, we did it. Bought a 2009 36' diesel Tiffin Phaeton. My husband and I are selling and storing stuff and getting ready to hit the road in September. We are complete novices and not very mechanical, so this big rig is totally intimidating! We appreciate any advice all you experts can give us.

We live in the mountains of Northern California and want to go North to Vancouver and back for our first 30 day trip. When we return we'll be living in the motorhome too! But we also heard that the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Albuquerque is a blast early October. So we can't even decide on our first trip yet, let alone learn how to work this monster machine! eek!

So happy to know that there are so many people with experience willing to share what they've learned. We appreciate you all already.

WOW! Sure beats the very used 15' trailer we started with!

Welcome to my favorite RV forum. Don't be shy about asking questions. Someone here's "been there, done that", and has a drawer full of T-shirts. Most are very happy to give you the benefit of their experience, just ask.

There is an informal rule here though, no photos, never happened.

May you enjoy many happy (s)miles in that Pheaton you claim to have purchased.

Welcome and a super start. I live down the road from you in Manteca, so if I can be of any assistance let me know. As you become accustomed to the unit try a few days at Jackson Rancheria or come on to Manteca at French Camp Rv Park. We are headed to Pismo Beach RV resort next week for a few days.
Check out the FMCA section of this forum and consider joining.

Lots of big changes. I'm taste-testing all of this too; so far, at the six month point, I give RV'ing a HUGE thumbs up
