Hello to everyone. My husband and I have been lurking as guests for some time now and thought we should just join in! We are nearly retired (end of year) and looking at upgrading from our 24' Class C Bigfoot to a DP. The Newmar Mountain Aire has really caught our eye, but still open to suggestions from you all. Hello there. IMHO you can't beat any of the Newmar products. We've got a Mountain Aire 35BLKS Fifth Wheeler, its a home away from home.

The Mountain Aire has caught a lot of eyes.

The best advice I can give is research, research, research.

There is so much personal preference in selecting your rig.

Thanks for your warm welcome and comments. We agree, we have been researching and researching this purchase, almost to a point of confusion. Had to back off for a while to see straight again.
We have a Newmar dealership in town. Would you agree it is better to have your dealership local, as opposed to hundreds of miles away?
We live in British Columbia, Canada. Some dealerships, ie Tiffin, would be hundreds of miles away. Or should that not be a deterent?

You are correct about information overload.

I narrowed my search down to the Dutch Star and then starting comparing comparable rigs to the DSDP, and the DSDP won each time.

Here in the "Lower Colonies" as our northern friends might like to think of us,

many dealers do not like to work on rigs they have not sold.

I don't know how Canadian dealers feel about this issue, and for fulltimers this is a moot point.

If you can get a price from your local dealer that you are happy with, then it's probably best to buy from him. A good relationship with a local dealer is great.

Hello Murphydog and Welcome to iRV2. Very glad you joined us. We look forward to hearing from you often. I have researched buying RV/TT cross border, and there seems to be no problems...just the huge savings to carry home.

While there are procedures to follow regarding importing from the USA, it is pretty much straight forward.
If you have a dealer locally, warranty is not a problem.
There are several web sites that explain what you need to know.

If I could just get GM to let me purchase a truck in the USA, I'd be one happy camper myself.
