Just thought I would say hi and let everyone out there know I'm here. Looking forward to checking in here and looking at all the neat coaches.

A little bit about myself: I like NASCAR and going to the races. I have a 72 Chevy Nova SS. I am a Diesel Mechanic This is my first motorhome and I have owned it for 3 years now.

Welcome to irv2
You will find alot of good people and good info here. Looking forward to your participation and the sharing of your diesel and remodeling knowledge.
We have a photo section that you can register on for free as well. That might be a good place for you to place some of the remodeling pictures of your Barth.

I work on there MotorHome. Have chased it on some roadcalls and worked on it in there yard.

Good group of people. I have known Vinnie for several years before he was on the show. That is my "get in the door pass" I have been there after the TV crews have left to check out some of the bikes. The last one I played with was a little over a year ago. it was the Snap-on bike.

Shhh, don't tell anyone but they were going to put the battery in a little play Snap-On toolbox and pull it out on rollers - didn't work off camera and they scrapped it for soemthing else. Believe it or not I haven't watched a complete show yet.

They moved from Stone Castle Road to the village of Montgomery in the old "Nabisco factory"

Thanks for the warm welcome. Hey, Is it a rule that only "the moderators" welcome you to this site? Come on people, I won't bite!

Anyway, I lead a boring life. Trying to mix things up but have way to many responsibilities in the day to day operation of running a small 24 hour roadservice business.

Sites like this is where one day (given the chance) I might just chuck it all and hit the open road for awhile. How many of you feel that way? I suspect a lot.

So if anyone wants some electrical advice, big diesel info, airbrake system operation or a pain in the backside just ask!

If I wanted to do something for this site to add value content who should I talk to before I post it? What forum sites should I be looking at to help people out? Who should I not poke with a stick?

What other neat advice do you have for a newbie to this site. As you can see I have mastered the signature profile and adding pictures.

Hey Bill,

Nice to see a local person. Sounds like you've got a great RV. There is a wealth of information here too and fun! Pull up a chair to campfire and enjoy!

Thanks Nell, anybody else local? Are you a member of any group? I was thinking of joining FMCA but don't know all the ins and outs of the various groups like GoodSams vs FMCA. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Hi Bill,

Nope, not part of any group really. We are lifetime Good Sam members-we were in the local group, but our schedule didn't allow us time to camp with them-3 kids and soccer. They are a good group though and know the local chapter here does quite a bit. You might want to look them up-Good Sam has the listings of Chapters.

Right now, we are the only one of our friends and family that camp. So we've always camped on our own. We do some local camping-Skyway, Jellystone in Ellenville. Plus we head up to Pulaski every fall for salmon fishing. Where've you gone to?

Nell

Two kids, a dog, gekko, several fish, a turtle, parrot and an imaginary friend. The kids are 5 & 8 and that keeps us going non stop. We really don't have time for a lot of camping.

I like to go to the tracks 2-3 times a year and watch the races. The wife watches the business and dispatches calls. This allows me to relax for 5 days without having to worry about my trucking accounts. I get to hang out with friends and unwind. I have been doing this for at least 8 years - 3 years with the Barth and the others with rentals.

I have taken the "human family" on one trip in the Barth to the old Action Park in Vernon Valley N.J. as a stay over. We had a great time and are planning on doing it again this year.

My wife knows that I want to take a big trip but we realize that at this point it's not practicle from a business standpoint.
