My husband recently passed away - we have a 2005 Carriage Cameo LXI. I am in the process of being the doer rather than the observer rather than the one who checks the brake lights. I am detrmined to pull, set up and enjoy my beautiful camper.
already registered for the 2008 TX Rally! I have already received a lot of encouragement from other ladies who do it themselves already!

Hello "de cat", I have wondered if I would have the courage to handle the rig by myself if I was widowed. I can drive it forward, but some of the backup parking my husband has pulled off is amazing. He is also good at u-turns. I am impressed by your spirit and am looking forward to meeting you at the 2008 rally in Perrin, Texas.

Cat, go for it. My wife can completly set up, break doen camp and drive the rig. She can back up, but it takes a spell. All it takes is a bit of practice. Do not let folks that are not patient cause you to make mistakes. Just take your time and work at a pace you feel comfortable.

Should be 'Cat de no Scared' great chioce. I hope my wife and mother will make the same.If you do not all ready have a hitch and unhitch check list it may help ya. This is a great place to start one and add your ideas as well. I bought my 1st Rv 2001 have always been a boat guy and this site is a fantastic source of info. from tolit paper to tires.  Keep the dust on ya boot. Gott  en cooler in Tx.

Sandy and I have discussed many times the situation in which you find yourself. I believe Sandy's greatest apprehension is handling the manual 6-speed in our current truck when towing. If I weren't around, she has talked about trading trucks for an automatic or moving to a "super-C" RV. Either way, I sincerely hope that she would continue RVing as it's something I know she enjoys. I applaud your decision to keep on RVing - as others have said, "You go, girl!" You'll always find support here on iRV2 should you have any questions.
We look forward to meeting you at the iRV2 National Rally in Perrin if not beforehand.

That's funny, my first thought was the same as Monaco Mama's.... you go girl! Go live and make more memories and tell us your stories! My thoughts are with you, I honestly would have to learn a lot to drive our 42' coach. But I would if I had to... happy and safe travels to you!
