Welcome to iRV2, frankiedog. If you like National Park campgrounds, there's Elkmont about 3-4 miles from Gatlinburg, further into the park are Cades Cove and Smokemont. Sites have no power, water or electric, but i believe they all take reservations nowadays thru recreation.gov.

Welcome to the site. You will find many helpful people here when you have trouble with your site or just to talk to others about their RV experiences.
I use to live just over the NC line from TN. I enjoyed the log cabin rentals at Gatlinburg. There is a Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge that has a lot of history. It use to be where they shot the show HEE HAW. The barn was rebuilt since then but they have an awesome show now. It's great for the entire family. There are lots of things to do within Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. I lived in NC but I traveled every Sunday morning and Wednesday night to a little town near there called Cosby just to go to church....Enjoy your trip.

Look at Riverside campground down at the south end of the park, where Cades cove is. Last time we were there, there were several campgrounds right outside the park entrance. Not as hectic as up at the Gatlinburg area.
