Just gettin' started...

Hello everyone. My wife and I are about to buy our first RV - we've pretty much settled on a new 2014 Thor Palazzo 36.1 - and I've been doing dozens (probably closer to hundreds) of hours of research to compare and prepare. This site has been an invaluable resource of information and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone: You either asked questions I never thought of, expertly answered questions that had been nagging me or simply encouraged me to keep going with your enthusiasm for the lifestyle.

If all goes well, we'll be purchasing our new rig in the next few months, and when we do we're really looking forward to meeting some of you awesome folk out on the road. Until then, happy trails to you all and thanks again for all your help!

Thanks everyone.

I have to say though that I might've spoken a little bit too soon in my first post. The wife still likes the 2014 Excursion 35B better than the Palazzo, and so does my research. Not to mention the beautiful 2005 Hurricane 40FD I found for a lot less. Suffice it to say that just when I think we've settled on a particular rig, something else pops up that makes it a little tougher decision.

We'll pull the trigger soon, and I'll share it all here when we do. Thanks again!

Welcome to the irv2 gang! We're sure glad to have you here!

Don't worry about changing your minds on which MH to buy. It is a lot of money and it really matters that you pick what fits your needs, comfort, life style and a lot more. DW and I took over a year to pick our unit and it sure isn't what we started out thinking. Folks here were our main source of information (what better group to blame for my decisions?).

Just enjoy the search and take the time you need. You'll be much happier that way. Good luck!

Hi,

Have you looked at the Winnebago Adventurer line such as the 35P or the 38 footer.

I have heard to many bad stories about the Palazzo coaches.

We are on our 4th Winnebago and really think they are well built and if you ever have a problem Winnebago is there for you. They even have manuals and diagrams on line that you can download plus the factory is always there to help you out. Another plus is they make all their own parts such as tanks, cabinets and fabrics. You might want to take a trip to Forest City, Iowa and tour the factory then go down the street to Lichtsinn motors and buy a Winnebago.

Good Luck in whatever you decide.
