Smile Just getting started...

Hello everyone!

I never owned, used, or even driven an RV before. No prior camping experience. I enjoy hiking, bike riding, kayaking, star gazing, and nature. I spent the last 5 years searching on and off for the the ideal RV, causing sales folks fainting spells during test drives (hey I gotta learn somewhere right???), saving funds, reading forums, researching, watching YouTube RV related videos, and downsizing. Finally in August 2015 I took possession of my 2016 Itasca Sunstar 27NLX, I rented my condo in Philadelphia, loaded the motorhome with the cats and we have been having the time of our lives full timing ever since.

I am a computer specialist for an insurance company back east. I work full time from home as long as I have an internet connection. When not working my day job or playing outside I am usually doing geek or cat stuff.

I look forward to meeting all of you.

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum. You did great with researching all the info first and actually just going out and doing to get used to the RV is the best way to learn. People at CG's (campgrounds) usually are more than willing to help out a newbie. The rest you learn as you go.

I saw a MH once that people had modified for their cats. They took a basement compartment that was under the table, cut a hole to allow a pathway down into the compartment. They added a ramp and carpeted it so the cats had a easy walk down the ramp, added a gate system inside the door of the compartment and put the litter box down there. The owner was able to clean the box from the outside and the cats could go down there to get some fresh air. It was pretty impressive.

Good luck and I am sure you will want to do this for years. Lynne
