Just joined this month…

Hello All

As Sociologist have noted, most Americans don’t live more than 50 miles from where they were born. This is certainly true of my wife and me; both born and raised in Chicago, and who now live a mere 28 miles west of the city.

At current count, there are 18 US states that we have never visited and we are looking to get a Class C RV (preferably a Tiffin Wayfarer) in the next few years (I retire in 4) to close the gap. Our ultimate plan is to tour the country and scout out a potential retirement home base as we do not plan to retire in Illinois.

I joined the iRV2 forum as part of my research on “all things recreational vehicles”. When I say “all things”, here is just a ‘short’ list of the things I’ve researched so far:
  • Acquisition and Disposition
  • Buying a RV
  • Class A
  • Coachmen
  • Newmar
  • Thor
  • Tiffin
  • Winnebago
  • Class C
  • Dynamax
  • Forest River
  • Jayco
  • Leisure Travel
  • Phoenix Cruisers
  • Renegade
  • Thor
  • Wayfarer
  • Winnebago
  • Travel Trailers
  • Airstreams
  • Costs of Ownership
  • Financing a RV
  • Full Vs Part Time RVing
  • RV Rentals
  • Selling a RV
  • The "Toad"
  • Health and Welfare
  • Emergency Planning (Injury or Death)
  • Healthcare (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • Security
  • Legal Stuff
  • Establishing a Base of Operations
  • Establishing State Residency
  • Firearms
  • Homestead Information
  • Jobs While RVing
  • License and Registration
  • Taxes
  • Useful Accessories
  • Additional Storage
  • eBikes
  • Essential Tools and Equipment
  • Night Time Lighting
  • Solar Power (acquisition and usage)
  • Wi-Fi and Internet Access
  • Trip Planning
  • Animals (On the road and in the woods)
  • Boondocking
  • Checklists
  • Communications
  • Driving Tips (when trailering)
  • Laundry
  • Mail and shipping
  • State and National Parks (Admission and Boondocking)
  • Packing and Provisions
  • Power Management
  • Propane (and propane accessories)
  • Roadside Assistance
  • RV Attire
  • RV Parks (memberships)
  • Sanitation
  • Temperature Management
  • Traveling with pets
  • Traversing Mountains
  • Water Management
  • Weather
  • Winterizing

So… apart from other RV manufacturers, which I have omitted for various reasons, what have I missed?
