Just purchased a new to me RV in Florida

I haven't had an RV in 20 years. The last one I owned was a 1977 VW camper van. Mush has changed since then. Wife, 3 kids and all that goes with it.
So my new adventure starts with me purchasing a 1988 Holiday Rambler Presidential 33 ft. On a whim. Drove it home and now I am going through the systems. It is definitely a throwback and in really good condition for being a 31 year old coach.
Would appreciate anyone that can help me with this with regards to systems and what to look out for and forward to.

I'd say go over it good looking at all the sealing and calking to make sure it is weather tight. Check all the systems to make sure they work. I'd be inclined to at least stock replacement belts, hoses and tubing with splices to keep water contained for the various systems and the tools to change them. Then camp in the yard and see what happens. If that works go someplace local then expand your horizons. It looks good from the pics! ;-)

I'd suggest you revisit your math on the age of your MH. I also don't think the refrigerator will work laying on its back like that.

Oops! Math wiz!

Correct It is a 1985. I had it all correct in my head.
Anyway I am enjoying the clean-up and so far this is what I have found:
1. Generator works. Should get it serviced
2. Awning is in good shape
3. Fridge is brand new
4. Stove works. Oven missing the knob.
5. Missing 6 bulbs however I used one I know works and all receptacles work.
6. Electrical panel is not marked or faded so I have no idea what is what there.
7. Rear rooftop AC unit does not turn on at all. There is power to unit.
8. Hydraulic levelers do work.
9. Radio...not so much.
10. no tv's. Yea!
11. in dash AC does not work. It blows but not cold.

Havent checked hot water heater or furnace.

If anybody has an electrical schematic of this rig I would appreciate it.

Love the cockpit however.

Welcome. Nice ride.

Run the generator under heavy load 2-4 hours a month. Idle time on a generator is a killer.

As mentioned. Get to the roof asap and look close for any signs of issues. Especially one from Florida that gets 6 feet of rain a year.

Might I suggest posting this in the Vintage section. The amount of knowledge over there is amazing and a great bunch of regulars over there as well.

Yea No kidding! I have closely looked at the roof. It is a two piece aluminum roof. Seems solid.

That Florida roof is probably Green and needs a good wash.
If it has a 454 engine watch for burnt plug wires.
