Donna and I are new retirees from Alberta who are planning on going full time this spring/summer. Spending this winter away in MExico while shopping on line for a class A. Making lists of our preferences - lots of good help in these forums ----THX for folks who post so much great advice.

Still have not sold our home so will have a base for a time yet.

Getting a real education on the depth of choice in motorhomes. Bit overwhelming but fun (so far). Given what I have researched and our budget we are looking for an older higher end unit.

It is exciting and scary all at the same time.

Sounds like you are on a good track to success.

The used unit concept is smart for at least the first RV. You never really understand what you did not know until you've been on an extended trip. RVing is a giant series of trade offs, every which way. Thus it's easy to wind up making some flawed decisions at some point. At various milestone points on the decision making path go back and review ALL of your prior assumptions and decisions. Always keep in mind the difference between needs vs wants in an RV. What works for someone else may or may not work well for you folks. Everyone uses their RV slightly different and that matters. Don't get in a hurry making a selection or on the road.

Welcome and while looking remember most RV Parks have a size limit which makes finding a place to sleep if your rig is over 36'foot. The next question to ask yourself is if you have any disabilities that limit your moving about the RV. Understand having not owned an RV there are two types of Bath DRY and WET Bath's.

I'm not an RV dealer, but when we were shopping online we had some good easy to use websites to find the best RV for us. Here are two sites we like and most flexible. http://GeneralRV.com

What?

SOME Camping spots have such a limitation. But “most” certainly do not. And very few “RV Parks” would have a size limit at all.

It is more of an issue with RV sizes over 40’ but mostly in National Parks, National Forests and older State Parks.

It’s something to be aware of, not necessarily a firm guideline when buying or looking at motorhomes.

You don’t need to be concerned about a “wet bath” unless you’re looking for a Van-type Class B RV.

We have a nice 9 year old 5th wheel but have decided Class A is better for us now. Lot less set up take down.
Appreciated the comments so far & will follow up links given.
... we are very active retirees ( knock in wood) play pickleball... bike/ hike etc. So will need to pull a toad ( that’s a cool name... did a “what the heck” when first heard that!)
Expect to book dock in summer / go south parked in winter. Liking 36-37 feet but trying to squeeze a 2nd toilet in there is harder to find. Wife thinks we ok with 1 but I am the one waiting😳
