Greetings All

My name is Sonny Theobald and my wife's name is Joanne.

Today is the first time I have found this website. I have belonged to the Escapees Forum. Well on to our introduction

We are now proud owners of a 2009 Carmeo made by Carriage. I have been looking to get into full-timing RV for the last three years. We just purchased our Cameo last month. I have looked at hundreds of 5th Wheels. So while we just got our dream home we are not yet full-timing. We still own a home in Belleville, Illinois. Maybe next year we will be able to get it on the market. Anyway...

About Joanne, One big thing Joanne needs is a couple of women who would become her friends. The reason she needs these friends is to help her overcome her concerns about becoming full-timers. If you would like to email her please feel free to contact her at Joanne@6js.org She seems to be really excited about full-timing but has many questions about what to do about our mail, our presious STUFF and other things.

About Sonny, I spend 20 years in the Air Force, 10 years as a heavy duty truck mechanic and then 10 years in satellite communications. I am now retired and ready to travel.

About US... Joanne and I have been married soon to be 35 years and 4 adult children. They live all over the country. We are very dedicated Christians.

Our first outting in our Cameo will be a trip to Florida leaving just after Christmas and staying until April or May time frame. We will be staying at a RV Resort named Rainbow Village in Zephyerhills.

Seeing that we will be traveling with Ice and Snow on the roads and because this will be my first time pulling such a rig. So I am going travel south on I-55 to I-10 to I-75 to Zephyrhills. I think we will only be traveling 250 to 350 miles per day, taking 4 or 5 days to get there. Any suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to the forum... and thank you for your service. Looks like you've got some fun times ahead but a lot to do. After half timing for a little over two years, the wife and I sold our home...fully furnished... put what we just couldn't part with in a 10x10 storage unit and have been full timing for the past 14 months already. We too are members of Escapees and they helped us through transitioning to full time. I'm sure you already know about their mail service... it works beautifully... and their parks are great too.

One word of caution however, I think nearly all full timers will agree that it is imperative that both parties want to full time. If one just gives in to satisfy the other it can lead to difficulties. So, it sounds like you're taking the right approach in getting Joanne's concerns addressed.

Best of luck to you both...

Rick
