OH Winnebago Vectra (93') here....

Hello; We bought this motor home a few years ago and have done lots of great traveling, but not without the "unexpected many repairs". We remain hopefull, but have come short of buying a new one a few times.

Our new problem is the Kwikee motor assembly. The gears are chewed up in it. I am trying to find out if I should put a new control box on with it? I have done most of my own repairs, but want to make sure exactly what it needs.

........any help will be greatly appreciated and is the best place to purchase the part on here?

Paul & Evelyn

Good luck with your problem;

That is a good site, however , as I found out the other day, they will not sell you parts. Here is one site that has parts. Kwikee

Good luck and welcome to IRV2

Eve, Mfgr. might stock only the whole assembly, but...
> if the plastic gear teeth are worn it's got to be due to a shift of the drive gear alignment. A set screw on the shaft secures both gears. See if you find any movement/slippage that would explain the errant alignment that caused wear-down of teeth. I just replaced my garage door motor's "gears only" due to a similar problem. These were sold as a D.I.Y. repair kit from the manufacturer [plastic gear teeth, with washers].

Does the motor itself appear to rotate & basically operate normally at the correct torque? If it's damaged ,rusty, corroded or otherwise suspicious; then I'd opt for the total replacement. '93 makes it 17 years old.
