Let the adventure begin!
Hello all, I just purchased a Jayco White Hawk 27' TT and cannot wait to start my travels. I'm beginning the research to prepare it for dry camping which I intend to do most of the time. I've researched 6 volt batteries vs 12 volt and intent to take the 6 volt route. I'm still researching generators and would appreciate any and all recommendations. I want to run the AC if needed.
Thanks,
Cy

Generator needs to be a MINIMUM of 3500 watts start, 3000 watts continuous for one AC unit.
Personally, if I were starting over from scratch, I would purchase:
https://www.harborfreight.com/3500-w...tor-63584.html
Yes, it is a Harbor Freight product, but has received good reviews on this forum and other places. Can't beat the price.
Honda is the "Gold Standard" but not everyone can afford, or NEED GOLD!

Hi Cy
Glad to have you here in the forum with us. You're gonna like it here.
The decibel rating of any generator is important. Some of them like contractors models can be very noisy and even though you plan on doing a lot of dry camping, when you are in a CG a loud genny will be inconsiderate of your neighbors. Generally quiet means more expensive.
Happy Trails!!!

Welcome and enjoy your new TT! As far as generators, I have 2x Honda 2000i inverter generators. On a cross-country trip, we used them both to operate the A/C twice; once in DC, and once in Texas. In reality, the noise of the A/C running inside the TT was worse than the noise of the Honda's running outside. We were gone for 5 months. I did use one gen several times to charge up our batteries (2x12v Group 24). Any generator, no matter how quiet, is gonna offend someone at the campground, you can't win. No one ever complained to me about gen noise, except me. The noise of a generator ruins my camping experience, but sometimes you gotta have it. The nice thing about the Hondas is they are light (43# ea), dependable and the quietest out there.
