While I'm not new to RV'ing per se, I am at a point in life that I hope to spend more time on the road exploring the continent and hope to benefit from your experience.
I have a strange story for my introduction . . . possibly the worst case of RV procrastination ever. I bought a brand new hybrid 20' Jayco 19H in 2006 and I just took it out for the first time two weeks ago! Life just gets in the way sometimes, right?
Had a wonderful trip in it, and was delighted that virtually everything in the little trailer still worked! I did spend quite a bit of time making sure it was ready and re-sealed the roof, had bearings packed, replaced tires and such. It was a little painful having to replace tires that had like 10 miles on them. (sigh)
I'm definitely going to hang out in any forums you have regarding tow vehicles, because I need desperately to upgrade that. My Jeep Liberty "handled" the trailer OK, but needs a handful more gears. I couldn't keep the engine revved up into the power curve enough most of the time and it was a struggle to keep the speed up in 3rd. I didn't really want to tow 1,400 miles in 2nd!
Had a lovely campground at about 9,000 ft in Colorado for a week.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and exchanging ideas.
Safe Travels,
