Looking forward to when...
Hello everyone! My wife and I haven't set a date of departure for our fulltiming adventure yet, but I'm looking forward to when that day comes. I'm hoping within a year's time. I just need to convince my wonderful companion (my wife, not my dog - my dog will go anywhere, anytime with me), that we can do this and have fun at the same time. And...not worry about losing everything and having to live in a cardboard box the rest of our lives. She is afraid of the unknown, I guess. But I think she will come around, with the help of ya'll on this forum. I have done quite a lot of research over the last few years on fulltiming, but I still have many questions I would like answered...and that's why I'm here. I look forward to our conversations on this forum.
P.S. - We are in our late fifties and I am receiving an early-out pension from my former employer. Not enough to survive on, however. We will need to work some along the way. We are no strangers to RVing. Right now we are owners of a 1996 33' Pace Arrow Vision - Class A motorhome.
Thanks
Stephen

Welcome Stephen (and wife and dog). We started our fulltiming journey last June (also in our late 50's) and have learned so much from this forum. I think you will be very happy here.

We too, are also looking forward to full timing in the next 18 months or so. The key word is "WE". The most important thing, is "WE". the amount of money really doesn't matter, no matter how much or how little it is. If you agree, and are on the same page, then everything will work out. Maybe you wife is worried about the money, it sounds like it.
I'm so lucky. We have challenges because of my lungs and medical bills. We don't have a lot, but whatever we have it will be enough, because this is OUR dream. Not mine, not hers, OURS.
I don't think I need to say any more.

Thank you! I checked out your blog. Looks great. I will be following your travels. I'll bet it is a lot warmer where you are at then where we are. It snowed yesterday here (northeast Oregon) and rained it all off today. Yuk! Wish I could fly south. Have fun and take care.

Thanks for the reply, Davdeb1. Part of my wife's problem is the money thing, but I think she will come around. Take care and have fun.

I agree with Davdeb1. You both have to be on board with this or it will never work. You will also need to be able to live in close quarters without killing each other. We are not rich, so we have to budget very carefully. We also made sure everything is paid for, rig, car, tow dolly etc. Good luck on your decision.
