My first post,here goes.
Need to be in Vancouver from mid sept.to mid Oct. 07
Coming from Ontario and thinking of going (West)across on I-94/I-90. On my way back, was thinking I-80 being further South and a month later.
My concern are road conditions through the mountains at that time of year ie:snow/ice.

Would be towing 27' fifth wheel w/Dodge Diesel.
Am I too late in the season?

Welcome to the forum. From Ontario I prefer going north to Sault Ste. Marie and then make your way to the southern route I80. Be sure to stop at Wall Drugs. I've done the route many times in all seasons, and never had bad conditions. There are passes you will encounter and may run into some weather related issues, but you may only have to be flexible with your arrival time, meaning you can hold up somewhere.

Fargo... I read your name and "shivered"!

I am not a "snow-cold" person... soI have NO idea why you want to be heading through there unless it is the dead of summer... ...
..but I wanted to say welcome to IRV2!!

Ask away...everyone here is knowledgable and friendly!

Thank you for the feedback folks.
The reason I'm contemplating this venture is that my alternatives are to fly there or drive and stay in motels for a month.
I'd much sooner have my 5er along, that is if those mountain passes are safe at that time of year.
Tx. again

overall, you should be fine on all mountain passes, even if you went up to the north(trans Canada from Calgary or Yellowhead from Edmonton).

Just don't put yourself into a position where you HAVE to drive on a certain day.

IF you come across snow, and you could (any time of year - almost), take your time.

I have driven the Canadian Rocky routes, and couple of the US ones in various times of winter and not had problems.
