Yes, I confess, both my wife and I have lurked here for almost two years. We have also lurked in a number of other RV forums in that time. Both of us have come to the conclusion that IRV2 is the best, most informative and most helpful RV forum on the Net.

Now that we have finally sold our house, bought our coach and literally have jumped in with both feet we figured it's time to come out of the darkness and into the light.

Donna is a former Corporate Credit Manager whose company closed 3 years ago and now considers herself to be retired. I'm a retired Tractor Trailer Driver/Trainer. I hold an Advanced Class Amateur Radio License, call N1GNQ. I am also a U.S. Army veteran ('67-'70, 9th Armored Cavalry). We are both originally from central CT but have spent the last 30 years living and working in MA.

Our new (to us) coach is described in my sig and I'll post pics of it in the "New Rig Show-Off!" board shortly.

We're happy to be here and we hope to see you down the road.

Craig & Donna

Hi Craig, and welcome to the forum. From what you mention in your post we have a number of forums you may have interest and as a two year lurker you are probably familiar with them all. I see you are a fellow South Dakotan.

Thanks folks, we're happy to be here! I have learned a lot from many of you and hope to contribute as well.

Yes, RJay, we are in the process of taking up "residence" in SD. We'll probably be here another week or so getting ourselves organized.

Thanks again,
Craig

Craig & Donna:

Hi from South Dakota and a BIG WELCOME to the iRV2 bunch. We retired out of Duluth, Minn. back in 05. Sold the house and ALL the "stuff" and have been on the road since. Took up residency here in S. Dakota, my wifes family home area but travel all over the place.

So, where ya gonna be spending your winters??

Again, thank you all for the big welcome.

Lynette, we are still in the Rapid City area. It's beautiful here and we've met some really nice folks and enjoyed seeing many of the sights.

We did the same as you. Sold the house and everything in it and retired into our MH. It just happened one heck of a lot sooner than expected. We put the house on the market on the 2nd of June, hoping we could sell it by late September or early October. Well, we had an offer on the 4th and came to a deal by the 6th. After two hectic months of yard sales, home inspections, smoke and CO2 alarm inspections, MA Title 5 inspections (don't ask ), RV shopping, trips to the transfer station and just flat out giving stuff away we finally closed on the 5th of August having removed the last of our belongings from the house at 9:30 PM on the 4th.

After saying all the goodbyes to relatives and friends we were on our way to TX in our Jeep with a 7' x 12' Cargo Trailer containing all of our worldly goods in tow, to look at a 2005 Beaver Monterey we had been keeping an eye on for a few weeks. Arrived there on 8/10 and made the purchase by 8/19. As it turned out it was just what we were looking for and we are really enjoying it.

We'll start heading south in another week or so. We still have a few things to do up here. We'll probably start meandering (love that word) toward NM. Donna has always wanted to go there and for now, this adventure is more about her than it is about me. My profession allowed me to see much of the country while she was stuck at home.

Hope to see you all out there,
Craig
