Question Need advice

Have the opportunity to buy a 1991 Class c motorhome with 70k miles for $2,500. Looking at it tomorrow. Not sure what model it is... are there lemon's out there? Anything I should look for in particular before buying?

That's pretty old. It really depends on what you want it for. Full timing across the country or just using it a few weekends for camping. If you are handy and have a place and the tools to work on it yourself it's better than if you have to pay someone to fix everything.

Look for signs of water leaks inside and cracked seals on the roof. If there is any hint of water leaks, mildew or a musty smell I'd skip it. Make sure the floor is solid when you walk on it.

Old tires (over 5 years - date code on the side first two digits are the week and second two digits are the year). RV tires don't usually wear the tread out but they age from sitting in the sun and five or six years are typically the max for many of us. Figure another $1,200 if it needs new tires.

Make sure all appliances and systems work. A new fridge is $$$.
These will all add to the cost of getting it ready for the road. The rest is pretty much what you would look for in any used vehicle. Get a mechanic to look at it before you buy it.

Roof, leaks, existing water damage.
Age of tires for safety.

Glad to have you here in the form with us.

You're looking at an RV that has a lot of age on it. Look for sign of water leaks and make sure all the systems and appliances work. Tires age out before they wear out. See if there are any service records on it.

Happy Trails!!!

Sorry I don't know anything about that RV.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
