Thumbs up needed a way to stay broke so.......

I BOUGHT A MOTOR HOME!!!!
Hi folks.....names todd reed, i live in northeast MO....been into old hotrods and whatnot for many yrs...im 39, 2 kids, gabriel 11 [inna month] abby, 7..and my wonderful wife shana whos age i know not to tell!!!
always really wanted one, but never really got around to looking for one..we have a restaurant, and i farm, so we keep pretty darn busy!!!
so last fall i was goofin around on the net on eve, and contacted a feller about a 1995 32ft national sea breeze...ended up really hitting it off with the guy, and he had lost a job [like millions have] and endedup selling it to me for 5k!!!! so...i had no choice but to buy it!!!! {least thats what i tell my wife}
only thing it needs is a good cleaning, and a drivers side fender flare dealy..
ill be pickin it up in 2 weekends! my buddy scott has it at his fathers shop about 5 hrs away! he and his father where kind enough to pick it up and winterize it for me and store it all winter!! pays to have good friends!
anywho, dont know alot about motorhomes yet, so i figured id hop on here and learn some things!!!
sorry for the novel!!!!
take care,
todd

Todd, Shana, Abby, & Gabriel;

Welcome to iRV2. I believe you have come to the right place to gather much of the info you will need. Browse this site and don't be afraid to ask questions. My DW and I ran a restaurant for 27 years so I understand lack of free time. We never had enough time to travel until we finally retired.

Welcome and best of luck with your new motorhome ! We traveled quite a bit in a motorhome when the kids were young and really enjoyed it. Now they are grown and it's time for us.

I agree with Don, being self employed for 40 years we also understand the lack of time, and found life is too short so.................You just have to make the time.

Owning a motorhome gives you the opportunity to take short day and weekend trips.
Take advantage of that and all of the experience and information available on this forum.

Thru the years we have met a lot of great people on the road and look forward to seeing them at the various rallies, conventions, and get togethers. Check out and join some of the clubs and enjoy !

Welcome to iRV2.com. Glad to have you join us.

Based on my experience, you made the right decision. There's no better way to stay broke than to buy an RV - unless it would be an airplane or a boat!!

If you go to the top of the page and click on the community link you will get a drop down box. In this drop down box click on iRV2 groups. It will take you to a page of groups on this site with interests that match yours or are located in your area. On the right hand side on the bottom of new groups there is a tab to click on to show you all of the groups.

Join as many as you like. A lot of these have area rallies you can attend.
We also belong to Family Motor Coach Association FMCA and Good Sams Club. These organizations have different chapters and rallies of their own.

My DW and I are retiring so we bought our MH. It's turned out to be my new career and educational opportunity.

Todd, Congrats on joining the "Always broke MH owners club". It's great that you are doing it at a young enough age to have your kids enjoy it and gain some great memories. Good Luck... John H....
