New Fiver - 2011 Jayco 25.5RKS

Hi All

I just bought a 2011 Jayco Super Lite 25.5RKS (10,000 GVWR) today, delivery planned next Sat. My TV is a 2002 Dodge 5.9L24V Cummins auto, 4.10, towing and camper packages (11,400 tow rated) with 137,000. I just had the low pressure fuel pump and steering box upgraded with a FASS and a Redhead with a steering brace and had the APPS replaced.

I got laid off and my last day of work is 1 Sep. Last time this happened it took me three months to get a job and rent was eating me up. The last month I got a job offer but it was out of state and I didn't have money to move there, put a deposit on an apt, etc. I decided I'd be better mobile. I had hoped to stay at this job through the winter but God decided I needed a change of scenery. The money I put down on the fiver and extra insurance will be a wash in three months then I'm making money. When I get a job I can just drive there this time.

In order to do that I need to free camp as much as possible, so next Friday I'm heading North out of Las Vegas to find seventy degrees! When it gets too cold I'll work my way down to AZ. I can phone interview from anywhere. Obviously if I'm dispersed camping I may not have cell service, so I'll have to make a run into town once or twice a week or find places that have some service (ATT).

Although I've pulled trailers before, I've never lived in an RV, but my Jayco 29 footer is bigger and nicer than a lot of the hotels I've stayed in over the last few years traveling about for work. I know I've got to learn, but I'm way far from the bottoms I hit over the past decade so it's all good for me.

I'm a 56yo single woman in good shape and reasonably adept with pliers and duct tape. I had hope to have a few months to ease into this, but that ain't going to happen. I got Good Sam on both my truck and fiver, and will make it up as I go. I may be on here with some newbie questions!

If anyone has suggestions on free camping in the Nevada Utah Idaho Arizona area that have at least a bit of ATT service I'd appreciate it.

I specifically got the short bed quad cab truck and a short fiver so I could get into more areas, but I'm going to have to experiment with how well I can get down dirt roads before dragging hard parts.

I do have a traveling companion, the worlds cutest four pound teacup long hair chocolate and cream teacup Chihuahua.

I just thought I'd introduce myself and say thanks for all the helpful information posted.

Namaste
Kate
