Greetings to All,

We just purchased our first Class A DP. Over the years we've had 2 class C's and 2 fifth wheels (one a toy hauler). This wasn't a planned purchase, but over Memorial Day holiday we were on our way to New Mexico to visit one of the kids and had a blow out on the truck about 30 miles west of Tallahassee.

Short version is we went on a wild ride through the woods, down a drainage ditch and had a deer fence stop us just short of going over the embankment. We walked away without a scratch. The truck and 5er, not so much. Finally got settled with insurance so we went shopping. I was told no trailer this time.

Found an 02 Winnebago Ultimate Freedom that fit our budget. It will be a great coach once we get the "bugs" worked out.
Looking forward to seeing kids and grandkids that are at opposite ends of the country. Now that we're recently retired we don't have to hurry anywhere.

Found this forum and it looks like there is a wealth of knowledge here- I've learned quite a bit about our new UF. Looking forward to sharing a bit as we go. I'm sure to have questions as well.

Anyhow, glad to be here (really glad) and look forward to meeting some of you as we travel.

Attached a few pictures- some of the last time we drove our old rig and one of our new to us coach.

So glad to read that you and your family came out of this okay. It was scary to be sure. It is wonderful that you "got back in the saddle" and are back on the road. Plenty of happy memories, yet to be made, are in your future.

Glad you are ok. Welcome to the forum.

Grab the owners manual and a note pad. Read through it and use a highlighter. Things like fuse panels seem to be hard to find. Go through the book again in a week or so. And then in a few months. At least yearly turn the pages on the manual for a refresher course.

It is nice traveling in a motohome. You don't have to get out to eat lunch and the interior temps are always what you want.
