New from bama

I'm new and wanted to share my rv purchase. It's a 2008 simba safari 38sdd FRED. My father and I own a big truck salvage business and sometimes buy wrecked trucks to part out on copart. I own a raptor toyhauler and love it but really wanted a MH. So I was picking up a wrecked Mack truck at copart and spotted the simba and stated checking it out. It said flood damage so got to checking it over and it had water about half way up the lower baggage doors nothing bad at all. It was fresh water not salt water as I found previous owner info in the rv and called him. He said the rv was at the camp ground 40 miles north of gulf shores in April and they got 22 inches of rain in a short time and the campground flooded The thing looked brand new inside with only 5900 miles on it.
So I bid on it and bought it at a great deal. I went back to get it and all I had to do was put batteries in it and I drove it 300 miles home. I had some work ahead of me as water got to the inverter, generator and leveling motor. I put a new inverter assembly in the onan diesel generator and she fired up and ran perfect. Then I bought a new magnum inverter and leveling motor then cleaned her all up and now I'm ready to go rving. I only had to invest $3000 in parts to fix it. It's seems crazy to total something with such little damage. But glad they did cause I'm headed to fort wilderness in her in February. Here is a pic of it the day I got her home. I will post more pics of her cleaned up when I take some.
