New from North GA

Hello to all you fine folks.
I just acquired a 1989 Itasca to become my full time roof at the end of the summer. I am leaving the Sticks and Bricks behind and condensing my life into a 27 x 9 box on wheels. Right now the RV is docked at my daughters house with power, water, sewer, and cable. This will obviously make the transition a little smoother. I am looking forward to the change of lifestyle after almost 40 years in the IT rat race. ( Do you remember 1200 baud modems?).

My first project is going to be a thorough polish and wax of the exterior. It has been sitting for about 8 months, and is starting to get black streaks coming down the sides, and the gel coat is getting really dull. What should I use to bring back some of the shine? I heard I could start with Barkeepers Friend and then use a good wax. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance....

Welcome to the forum

You will get lots of answers as to what you should wash your rv with. For an initial wash I would just use a good car wash product. Awesome is a good cleaner for $1.00 at the doller store. I use Gelcoat to wax. It can be found at Home Depot or RV dealers. I would not use Bar Keepers friend to start with. Walmart has a good selection of RV cleaner products.
