New from Up North

Hi all. New to forum. Recently purchased an 09 Winnebago 29T Class C.

I have lived in Alaska most of my life, as has my wife. We did some RVing up here years ago. We have decided to re-explore Alaska this summer. In August, we plan to drive it to the lower 48, as far as Denver where one of our sons lives. We plan to park it there in secure storage and fly home. Later we will fly back down and continue on our way a section at a time.

We don't want to go full time because we have elderly family here and although they are in good health, don't want to take a year or two out of what they have left.

We had family come from Holland last summer and they rented a unit and traveled around the state. Near the fishing holes it was pretty busy but up North to Fairbanks and over to Valdez was almost empty. If you want to visit Alaska but don't want to be stumbling over others, now is a good time to come. I assume it will be a light year as it was last year.

I hope to visit the forums often, looks like there is tons of information here.
