Morning all,
Wife, Timmy (the Timid Shelty) and myself are on the last leg of our NH to Keys meander. On Saturday, we jumped from Seffner, FL to Miami to stage for our last hop to Jolly Rogers on the Keys. Unfortunately, we found our kitchen slide wouldn't extend. We have a 37 ' 2008 McKenzie Medallion Estate with 4 slides. Only one side of kitchen slide is working, so I'm guessing we broke a shear pin. Looking from the outside, 3 corners of the slide is closed flush, but the lower left is out about 1 inch and the slide won't move in or out on that side. I've put in two cargo carrier bars on the inside and believe that will safely secure the slide for travel. Anyone have any experience/knowledge here
Since a call to Coach.net ended with 'We'll call you Monday with a place to take the rig', I've decided that if it's 'safe enough' to drive to who knows where for service, it's safe to drive to Jolly Rogers where we have a fairly expensive 2 week reservation waiting for us. We'll live without the kitchen for 2 weeks, then make our way back to the Lazy Days Rv Service center in Seffner. Wouldn't you know, we stopped there on the way down, but had no problems and therefore no servicing, just used the campground as a waypoint. Why couldn't it break 1 day earlier
