Hello Everybody!

My new friend, monacomama, told me about this website tonight, so I thought I'd take a moment and say hello!

My hubby and I began full-timing in our new 2008 Monaco Dynasty on May 10! All of this came about after my husband's 2nd heart attack last Thanksgiving Day. After much soul-searching, we came to the realization that life is unpredictable (and sometimes short), so we decided to throw all caution to the wind, sell everything and move aboard.

We were very fortunate that our ranch in California sold 4 days after we put it (unofficially) on the market. The buyer bought everything, including our ranch equipment, furniture and 40 horses. We got rid of everything else! In fact, I'm proud to say that I have only 8 BOXES left in storage!!!

We left California in May, travelled to our new "home" state of South Dakota, then worked our way back to Washington by way of Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. We attended the Monaco Northwest Rally in Birch Bay, WA on June 20-22. Then we spent two wonderful weeks in Anacortes, WA while we had some work done on the motorhome.

In July, we worked our way north through Canada and ended up in Alaska! We spent almost a month in Homer, Alaska, and loved every minute of it. In fact, my hubby LOVES to smoke the salmon and halibut that we caught! (Of course, MINE were the biggest!)

We are now in Salem, OR, where we attended the Monaco rally (and where I met MonacoMama). We are headed south to California for a month or so, and then will spend the winter in Mexico.

So, that's the story and I'm sticking to it! I look forward to "meeting" you and hearing from you! I can see that this website will become a valuable resource in our new life. Oh, and by the way . . . I just officially "graduated" from the Women's Driving Class which was offered here at the Monaco Rally! So, now the hubby is worried that I'm going to take over his "job!"

Welcome to you both! MM told us they met some wonderful new friends at the rally. So happy to have you join us at this great site.

We have some things in common. I love to drive the MH and Rick knows it, so he lets me. I love to fish as much as him, but of course we never have any competiton on who catches the biggest.

You have some great travel plans set. We hope to hear all about your adventures.

Marsha... Welcome to IRV2! I told ya this is a great site for "meeting" new friends and getting new ideas or solutions to possible problems! Sorry I have not been "making the rounds" all over the forum like I usually do...so I have been a little slow in officially welcoming you!
It lloks like you have made yourself at home already ...Good for you!

PS... which address are you coming to for warranty work...and when are you getting there? I think Sacs and I will be heading to Florence tomorrow afternoon...so we will probably miss you & Howie...
Let me know!
MM

Hi Marsha & Howard,

It must have been "meant to be" that you were able to sell your ranch so quickly. What memories you will be able to make on the road. I'm sure you'll meet lots of great people and will be able to discover so much of what makes our country so great! Have fun!
