New Guy

New guy here from Philly.
First timer for a motorhome.
(Traditional camping & some pop up experience)
Me (35), my lady, couple kids, couple dogs, yadda yadda...
We picked up a 90' Winnebago Chieftain 31'.... Just figuring everything out & where to go.
I'm a fireman here in Philly, so I have plenty time behind the wheel of such monstrosities.....but finding people in the city that know these rigs is a challenge in itself. So, here I am.

Hi New Guy and family,

Welcome to the forum. Check out RVService Reviews .com. May be someone in your area that others have used and gave a review on.

Lot of old threads here and a "Vintage RV" thread where a lot of people have older rigs and may have some answers for you. Go into the "Owner's Forums" for rig specific info and on Wed nights there is Winnebago Owner's talk to check out.

Try winnebagoind.com/product-resources/product-information Not sure it goes back that far but it may and if so it will be a great spot for wiring diagrams and pretty much everything. The Indiana Winnebago plant will be a good place to call or E-mail if nothing on site goes back that far.

Good luck, Lynne

Yep, it goes back farther than the one you have so you can find all your manuals on the site. We printed all the diagrams for ours so if we were on the road we had them. Printed them and put them in a book and they stay in the rig.

You can get a lot of replacement parts from Winnebago and salvage yards if you need something.

Come join the chat on Wednesdays though, to discuss your baby. These old rigs can be amazing when fixed up a bit.

Make sure to check the dates on your tires and replace them if they are over 8 years old or badly cracked. Got a lot of precious cargo there. Enjoy the rig!
