New guy checking in

Hello all from Louisiana. Been looking for some info on truck side ins and I came across this web site. I had found that there are sound advice from the members here, so I joined. I hope in time I will be able to add knowledge of what I learn.

I had owned campers on and off over the past 30 years and now that its just the wife and I, I found a very nice Sun-lite 9.5 Hideaway camper. Its an older one(1987) that will need a little work and I hope I will be able to find the info here on what I need to do.

Glad you decided to stay, fishfighter. Anyone who has been camping as long as you have is bound to be able to contribute a lot.

Most of our time has been spent on the water. Guess one could say sleepping on a boat is close to camping. We do enjoy camping as our kids do. We had our first Grandchild born 3 weeks ago.

My plans for the truck camper is to use it on hunting and fishing trips. I need a way to tow a boat or two due to the fact that with the oil spill, one can't find a place to stay anywere along the coast of Louisiana at this time. No telling when that will clear up. I had to dry dock our sportsfisher last April and I'm not planning on wetting her till they open the Gulf of Mexico up for fishing again.

Now,if someone needs info on boats,I'm sure I can point them in the right direction. LOL

I like that name fishfighter. We have been enjoying a good fishing season here in the North country. I can tell you 20 years after the Exxon Valdez, it is still one of our favorite places to go for fishing and just beautiful country. We had two great days of halibut fishing last weekend. Nothing too big, but enough to stock the freezer pretty good.

akcamper, I have a friend that charters up that way ever summer. Very nice country up there. The wife and I are planning a trip up that way maybe next year.
