New guy from Massachusetts!

Hello!
The names mike. Been part time rv-ing pretty much all my life, growing up. Have had my own camper about 3 years now that I got for free and have had plenty of fun with!

I'll be honest, I have dual reasons for joining up. While I'd like to meet people who like camping and traveling and as well as what I'm assuming is a vast knowledge base, I'm also in the hunt for a particular motorhome. I guess you could call it an old family heirloom lol. But I won't bore people with the details here.

Currently I own an 83 18' Fleetwood Prowler that I got for free and have had a blast with.
Looking forward to meeting people and talking travel!

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum. What MH are you looking for? I live in MI and am looking all the time for the MH we will buy summer of 2015. I could keep an eye out for what you are looking for too.

Lots of great info here. Look around the old threads and hopefully you will find the one you are looking for.

New guy from Massachusetts!

Thanks for the welcomes Lynne!
The motorhome story starts when my father was a kid. When he was growing up there was an old 1970 Chevy Grumman motorhome in his old neighborhood (brand new at the time) he always thought it was cool, and vowed to get one some day. Cut to the 90's, my father just happened to be in the old neighborhood one day and saw that it had been sitting in the same place for years. After asking the owner about it, he wound up buying it. My whole family came together to restore it. And it was the rv that my brother and I grew up with. I thought it was the coolest thing. Due to an unfortunate accident, we wound up selling it to my uncle who restored it from there. After his passing, my aunt was unfortunately forced to sell it. I'd love to find that particular one, but I know chances are slim. I know they didn't make many of them either. Though I'd love to find one!

Hey Mike,

That looks like a great rig. I would be looking for it too. Look at the top left of the page. See (Forums) Underneath that is a (Vintage RV) forum. Go in there and ask if anyone has a 1970 Chevy Grumman or knows of one out there sitting in a yard somewhere. I think people who appreciate older or (vintage) RVs will tend to look if they see one this old. They might be able to help in the search. These people are all over the states and they travel a lot so let them know what you are looking for and ask for their help. There are a great group of people here and I think if anyone can help you they can.

I will keep a look out here and let you know if I see one but so far I think the oldest I have seen was a 1980. They are out there so keep looking. Best of luck in the search.

Lynne
