New Guy from NW Minnesota

Hello Everyone,

I should have done this first, but I've already started a thread and have gotten some wonderful responses! This seems like a great, friendly place!

Anywho, I'm new to RV'ing. Actually I'm looking at purchasing my first very soon! We've always used a tent, which is fine but with 4 kids (including a 3yr old and a 2yr old ) it can be a challenge especially when they don't sit in car seats well at all. So we're hoping a MH will solve this problem. My wife is from the Oregon coast and we'd love to travel back there but we'd never make without loosing our minds.

I work at a desk job all day and my wife is a stay at home mom so we're going to be trying to find destinations that are fun but affordable.

I'm not sure what else I should include, so if you have any questions just ask.

Thanks everyone!

Hello Static! Welcome to IRV2. We have found when our children were young, that if we didn't camp, we didn't go. It is the best family time you could ever ask for. My only question is the car seats. Wouldn't you still buckle them in while traveling? When we had the Class C, we buckled our grandkids in at the dinette table and they could read or play games while on the road. Good luck with your purchase and safe travels.

I was just thinking about having them able to sit at the dinette like you mentioned. I actually looked up the law in my state and it says only the front seats are required. Must be similar to why buses don't have seatbelts?

At any rate, thank you for the welcome!

Great memories

Kids and camping make lifelong memories.Although my girls are all grown up with families of there own, we still talk about all the things we did camping. Have a great time and make some of those lifelong memories of your own.Safe travels and good luck on finding the rite RV.

Good luck on your search, Static. The hunt is half the fun. I'm in St. Paul but my parents have a lake place up in Detroit Lakes. Don't loan your rv to somebody going to We Fest.

I've never been to We Fest, but I've heard stories! And that's great advice!
