new guy looking for a vintage brave

Hello everyone my name is Steve I live in WI. I have decided to start the hunt for a nice vintage Brave. My wife has talked about getting a Winnebago and traveling the country for years. My plan is to find a decent one that needs TLC then fix it up on the down low and present it to her on our anniversary this coming Oct. We have some vintage campers I have been playing with but I can tell she would rather have her dream of a old Winnebago. I like the early 70s brave a lot and when I showed her a picture of a 1973 brave on the internet she said that's it..... that is what I was talking about. I have experience with restoring muscle cars and restoring vintage camper but I don't know anything about these older Winnebagos. I hope I can learn a lot here and make my wife dream a reality.
Thanks Steve

Steve, welcome to the Forum. Basically the same restoring motorhome and camper except the running gear. Try to find one with maintenance records just like buying a car. Good luck on the project. Steve

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. I have been searching CL and I found two candidates. One of them is a 1972 with the Chevy drivetrain but the owner claims it's 22 feet long and from my research they never made a 22 foot brave in 1972. He said he has all the maintenance records all the way back to the firstowner which is great. He has receipts for a rebuilt engine ,brakes and tires 10,000 miles ago and the price is right. The second one claims to be in excellent condition has a nice awning and looks fantastic but I can't get the owner to reply to a phone or email so it might be sold. It is about the same price range.
