I'm happy that the credit card company does its checking. I have had phone calls just after pumping a couple hundred dollars of fuel asking me to "push 1 if you just made this purchase." I don't mind. Should someone else have used the cc without my knowledge I'd push a different button and the wheels of justice would start turning.

Check out the "Texas Boomers" section of the site.

Welcome fellow Texan - we're in TC down by Galv.
I am still waiting for my PFJ card.....even though I received my first invoice....zero balance, but kind of weird not having the card

Well, we go to quite a few.. favorites are Lost Maples (every thanksgiving), Palo Duro, Fort Davis Mountains, and South Llano. I like Goose Island and Galveston for fishing.. My Wife loves to Dutch Oven cook, she is quite good at it.

As for Gas, I tried the use it over and over routine but this particular Shell station had a 50$ limit and after a few swipes.. they wouldn't take any of my cards. The really stupid part is 50$ was only buying 13 gallons of gas...

You may also want to check out the Texas Free Spirit club. We are camping with them for the first time on Memorial Day so I can't say much about them. What attracted us is they camp on weekends near Houston. We hope to make some friends for us and our kids. We have 5 kids. Two 12 year old girls. Two 14 year old boys. And one 16 year old boy. Blended family. Not twins. If they can also have friends to see when camping hopefully they stay enthused about going.

We want to do more state parks. Since a lot of our trips are related to our races we usually choose the park, resort, etc closest to the race site. Hoping to just camp more this year.

TFSC sounds interesting but I don't want to join in order to get more information. Maybe you can tell me about your first campout Memorial day..

We have reservations to Goose Island for memorial day weekend, gonna do some fishing. The have a few "water sites" that aren't really on the water, so I will keep my fingers crossed and hope I get there early enough. We joined SETPUCC (awesome POP-UP club) because I wanted my boys to have friends they see that they know already at some of the camp sites.. they have gotten better at making friends on the spot.. well my 7 year old is really good at it, but my 11 year old is still fairly shy.

I'll let you know about TFSC. To join you send an email to a guy. They seem pretty casual which works well for us. I figure at the cost off an email what do I have to lose.

Check out Passport America. Lot of Texas RV parks are PA members. Also TACO.

We camped with TFSC this weekend. There were 5 families there. We had a great time. Eclectic mix of people. Cheryl coordinated the trip. Excellent lady and fun to talk to enjoyed the time with her husband Steve as well There was another family that was also new that had kids the same age as mine so that worked out well. We really liked the casual attitude. We hung out some and also did our own thing. We will join go with them again. No dues or fees makes it a no brainier. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Thanks, I appreciate the update! I will look into trying this out at our first open opportunity.
