New in Rochester, NY area

Just got our first RV, a new Class C Coachmen Leprechaun. I've got tons of questions, mostly currently about electrical, week long boondocking, solar, etc but I'll ask those in the proper place.

We bought it in Grand Rapids, MI, so we've already had a 2 day shake down cruise

Would love to know more about RV resources in the Rochester/Finger Lakes NY region. I'd like to find RV friendly service providers other than the dealers, for inspections, oil changes, engine work, tire/suspension and the like.

If there were people who've done addons to their recent Coachmen/Forest River RVs, I'd love to hear from you as well.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.

I can't help with this, but I'm sure someone from the area will chime in soon.

Happy Trails!!!

Hope you don't mind if I follow along on this thread. I'm also interested in reliable RV resources in the Rochester area, as we plan to move back soon (lived there 25 years and have now been away for 10) with our first real RV (I don't count the popup we had 30 years ago).

Cotton Hawes so far I've found Perinton RV Rentals is also a (good) independent repair shop, and Hawk Frame and Axle in Fairport can do alignments and tire work, as well as collision.

Hah, no. I was an engineer studying combustion for a while, so you can say I was the exact opposite of a fire fighter.

FWIW Lewis Tire on W Henrietta Rd can also do inspections, tires, oil, etc. I think the closest Ford dealer that will work on a MH is Genesee Ford where 5&20 cross over I-390. The rest cannot get them in their shop.

As far as dealers it is worth knowing the Meyers split with Camping World and are back to being an independent. I had better luck in Bath than in Churchville.
