Hi All,

My wife and I purchased our new Evergreen 310RE yesterday, hopefully picking it up at the end of the month. This is our first 5th wheel, moving from a much small Navion Itasca IQ 24DL, which although an excellent small MH, lacks the room for extended long stay RVing.

We would love to hear from owners, especially Evergreen owners, regarding Inspection Check Lists, common problems found etc. Also hitch recommendations would be much appreciated. I was looking toward a Pulrite slidin hitch, however I have been toying with the idea of fitting an Anderson Gooseneck Mount with either a Blue Ox of B&W ball hitch.

You will enjoy the space in your new 5er. Don't know anything about your model though. We have a 5er and I find driving much with it much easier than with a tt......What's your tow vehicle?

Your dealer should walk you through the inspection and explain the systems in the unit.....should take a couple or three hours. There are lists that you can download, but if its a new unit the dealer should be doing a good job at the inspection with you. One thing I didn't check when I bought our unit was the roof, and the dealer didn't suggest it either....Every once in a while you hear of a unit where the membrane on the roof wasn't installed correctly and there are bubbles starting or problems at the front cap.....I later found that when the A/C had been installed a large amount of cooling fins had been damaged and the screws that held the plastic cover on where not galvanized or stainless. Luckily I found it within the first year.

Good luck with your choice.

Safe and happy Travels.

Forum welcome

Thanks for the welcomes to the forum. We have a lot to learn about 5ers in general and especially the evergreen. We hope to spend a few months in warmer climes, during the winter, as "she who must be obeyed" is tired of the Utah winter weather!
