[43 Mod]

The DW and I are new to RVing and are planning on buying a new to us travel trailer in the spring time.
My biggest fear is missing water damage.
Can anybody give me any tips on what to look for and where to look.

If you plan on buying a good to you TT check all compartment openings look for stained interior carpets, look for wall paper peeling around windows, stains in ceiling fabric around vent openings or AC's.
Check plumbing in water compartments,under
sinks,bath,kitchen for leaks just remember any water leak, however small, can be many feet from the actual leak entrance point.
While your at it check all windows for sealents,roof vent openings on roof, refer and furnace openings for sealents also.
You will want to check all these items before passing check, than you will know if something is amiss, you know the dealer corrected what you did find to be fixed. Good luck hunting, an have fun in the RV world,we are here to help in any future questions. "007"

You will find we are a fun loving group of RVers that love to help each other where we can. If the trailer you are looking for has flat fiberglass type walls be sure to look down the sides of it for any bulge protruding out and away from the norm. THis is for sure a sign that water has gotten into the wall and it is now delaminating. 007 covered the rest well. Good luck, take your time no need to rush and keep us posted.

Mike Day, Welcome to the IRV2 website, glad your on board, look for uneven floors,stained ceiling panels,a musty smell in the unit, hope that helps. Ed.S
