Hi! My name is Jen, my husband and son and I will be traveling to the U.S for our first time this coming December & January! We are from Australia and we will be leaving our summer to your winter. We will be staying in New York over Christmas so we are hoping to have our first white Christmas!

We are going to be renting an RV from Washington D.C to travel down towards the southern end for 4 weeks and end up back into L.A

We fly into L.A in the middle of December and are spending a week along L.A and San Fransisco and then flying over to New York on Dec 22nd.

Anyway, just wanted to drop in and say hello and I look forward to any hints or tips you may be willing to share on anything really!

Cheers,
Jen

Welcome to irv2 !! Just remember it will be COLD ! Will your rv be winter protected and equipped ?

Luv Australia and the trip we took their a few years ago. The great barrier reef was fantastic !!

Enjoy your travels...sound very adventurous.

Welcome to the forum Jen and family. There are many happy memories in your future as you travel in the U.S. As you and others have mentioned, in will be wintertime on this side of the equator. There is a sub forum on travel. You may wish to post your plans on this sub-forum. You can ask about weather related travel restrictions, state and national park closures, and so on. Many here have traveled these roads before you. You will likely learn answers to questions that you've haven't yet thought off. Travel safely...and enjoy!

Thank you everyone for that lovely welcome!

We have some friends who have been there in Winter and they have also warned us about the cold, but a white christmas is something we will never get here in Australia so I am more than happy to brave the cold!

Migkiller - Yes I believe so, we are hiring thru Cruise America are they ok?

HavingABlast - Thanks for that, I will look at that sub forum

Thanks again guys xo
