Hi, In the process of researching and looking for the right RV. My parents had a Prowler when we were kids and I always loved the out doors. My first and most nagging question. Is the Winnebago product a superior product? I see plenty of other RV's on the road. That seem to be just as good. The feedback that I am getting is that the cabinets, fridge, drawers are better quality. We have decided to look for a class C or Class A 24' to 30'. I am looking forward to talking with experienced RV'rs.

Welcome. Hope you find the perfect one for your needs. Enjoy the ride. Not an expert on rigs so don't want to respond to your question on that. I'm sure others will be helpful.

54bob,

Welcome! Your part of the best rv'ing community ever. Here are my thoughts based on almost 20 years in this lifestyle:

Winnebago
Tiffin
Newmar
Fleetwood

Between those makes you'll find any floorplan you want. I'd limit myself to those because there is plenty of choice and good quality there. Don't buy anything from Thor or Forest River..many bad experiences you'll see here in these forums. If you're considering used- look for '04 to '09. You'll be able to find units priced between 40 and 80k depending on year/model. I've owned 2 Fleetwood Class C's and currently have an '08 Winnie (bought new). All have been wonderful to travel in.

Good luck with your choice...if you need more, pm me.

Welcome aboard. When we went looking last year to buy a new unit we narrowed our search to either Winnebago or Newmar. We had had a good experience with a older Thor Hurricane but wanted a bit more upscale. We looked primarily at two floor plans one for each manufacturer and felt the Newmar had a better fit and finish, and after touring the factory ordered the Newmar. There have been issues, but Newmar has fixed them all.

Welcome.

I think the Winnebago is the best quality for the money

Call Lichtstein RV in Forest City IA for the best Price.

We ordered one, picked it up, put 37K miles on it in 23 mos. Sold it for 79% of what we paid for it

Beat that, if you can
