New Member ?

At my age it's hard to be new at anything! However by spending some of our hard earned cash I am a new owner of a Gulf Stream Motor Home. Got rid of the boat and the 5er and am looking forward to our first trip starting in a couple of weeks! Expect to put on a bit more than 5000 miles and be gone 6 weeks. Lots of new systems to learn about as the MH is a bit more updated, and I hope better quality than the 5TH wheel had.
There are a few manuls missing that will make the learning curve a bit more difficult, so I decided to make an appearence on this forum in case I find a problem that someone else may have already solved.

Luckiest Dre -

Congratulations on your new coach and welcome to IVR2!

I'm pretty new here myself, although I am on my second coach.

As an experienced RV'er and boater, you should have few problems with this new form of transport, but when questions due arise, you will find this resource loaded with lots of good help.

I see you started with a "small one", only 42.5!

Welcome to iRV2 Larry, congrats on the purchase of your Gulf Stream MH. If you com across a problem just post it and most likely someone else has had a similar one. No need to wait for a problem before you post again just jump in and enjoy the comradarie amongst the members here.
We did an 8000 mile trip last summer so it'll be short ones this year if I ever get the modifications finished.
Cheers
Willey

Larry,

Let me extend a big welcome too!! You must be an experienced RVer and that will go a long way to making your 5K trip less eventful. We went from a 5er to a MH too. Great move for us. I hope it will be for you.

We took our MH on a trip from NC to CA and back a week after buying it. If your trip turns out to be like ours we learned quite a bit about the systems a MH has we did not have on the three previous 5ers. Traveling in this heat you will learn a lot about the jenny system, likely using it to run the a/c while driving or dry camping.

As already stated, when you encounter a problem, take your time, ask questions, it will likely be something simple.

Dave
