New member and RV'er, THOR Windsport 31s

We bought our 2016 THOR Windsport 31s one year ago. We wanted a shorter Class-A that was rated to tow more than 5000 lbs. This Windsport was the first and only thing we could find in our price range. Even the diesel powered ones were only 5K. A service manager finally explained the reason why. When they weld on the extensions to the frame, the welds were only rated at 5K.
We like the layout, storage, & love the exterior kitchen. We share it with our son who uses it for a lot of local weekend trip around central Florida. He tows his trailer full of toys. We plan on taking his new buggy he build and race in the Mint 400 next year.
Buying this motorhome has been bitter/sweet. Love the motorhome but the buying experience has had me pulling my hair out. Quality control of our "New" unit was awful and the dealer experience even worse. THOR has help directly by sending me the parts I need instead of having the dealer hold the motorhome for weeks.
Can't wait for our first BIG trip out west.
Would like to hear from other THOR owners.

We love our 2011 Challenger, aBnd would buy another Thor product in a New York minute. 50,000 happy smiles!! Great coach and even greater factory support (broken windshield).

WOW! I thought I was the only unhappy Thor customer!
Evidently our "problems" were created by the dealer, Demontron Houston/Conroe, TX, and how the RV was stored on their lot.
Suffice it to say, Thor, located in Indiana, had a driver take our RV from Texas to their Indiana office, because so much was wrong! After 6 weeks in Indiana, Thor flew me and my husband to their corporate office/service center, to "approve" the repairs. We worked with the service personnel for over a day to make additional repairs. Then we drove our RV back to Texas.
Many miles were put on our RV, most without us at the wheel. August 28th, 2015 we purchased this RV and finally, over a year later, we are able to use it.
I can't get anyone from the Demontron offices to reply to our problems and the fact that we have made monthly payments on this non-working RV.
Thanks for letting me get this off my chest!
