New member, but no RV... yet.

We are currently researching used RV'S for sale in Oregon. We hope to have one by June. (We're taking our time and being very thorough in our search.) Right now we are looking at a '96 Fleetwood Bounder with 40k miles. Yes, it's an oldie but seems to be in great shape. Again this our first RV ever, and we'd like to do this right.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.

Tires and batteries can be an issue. Best suggestion is to get a registered RV tech and have the MH inspected. This will minimize sudden and enexpected repairs
Good luck with your choice.

Happy Trails!!!

Hi David,

Welcome to the Forum! Great way to do this, research prior to the purchase.

Check out PPL Motorhomes in Texas. They have a great website with floor plans. They are a consignment shop and you might find something there that peaks your interest and then start looking for that closer to home.

Just gives you some idea of what things should cost and what is available. Good luck.

Be careful of '96 models, some '96 motohomes may be built on '95 model year chassis, '96 was the first year the government mandated the OBD-II diagnostic interface port and it seems most mechanics these days don't have a clue how to work an anything that does not have an OBD-II port and more importantly don't have the custom code readers anymore for thing built before 96.

Thanks for the heads up. I checked with the dealer, and sure enough this is a 1995 chassis and no OBD-II. I'm reconsidering the vehicle based on that information.
