Hello,
Karen and I have been camping and RVing for many years, starting with a tent, then to a tent camper, followed by a VW camper, a German travel trailer in Europe, 2002 Winnebago Rialta and then a 24' FunFinder travel trailer, which we've been taking to Key West Naval Air Station for 2 months+ at a time the last few years.
This weekend (19 March), we will be trading in the FunFinder for a 2011 Damon Avanti. We've not yet decided on the 2806 or the 3106 model. We like the galley and bath features of the 2806 and the walk around queen bed in the 3106. Would like to hear from anyone having either of these Avanti's.

Both units are built on the Freightliner chassis with Cummins engine. What has your experience been on getting service?

Damon advertises that these RVs get 14.5+ MPG. What has your experience been?

We live in Fayetteville NC and love RVing and boating. We celebrated 51 years marriage this year and are looking forward to RVing in the Avanti.

Reid and Karen Gantt

A BIG WELCOME to the Forum!!!!!!!!!
As you can see on my sig. I have a Cummins D/P - milage is about 9/9.5 /gal. I do most of the service as needed. A newer chassis & power train should be a lot better than the older systems. If you like the floor plan and ride "go for it".
Safe travels & keep us all informed of your decision.

Welcome to the forum. We are new to the forum as well with 15 yrs RV ownership. The DP gets about 9MPG. We have needed chassis service in several locations across the USA. The Freightloner service centers have been helpful and respectful of our "home" during these service stops. We have not experienced a Cummins service center yet. We love our DP and are glad we changed from a gas powered MH. Service calls are a bit more costly, however; the intervals are less frequent. Happy RVing!
