new member first time Class C owner

my wife and i had just purchased our first RV. we had a pop up camper for many years, but desided to sell and take the plunge sort of speak to a Class C witch we have been wonting for some time. We are proud owners of a 1986 Class C yellow Stone E 350 RV.

I have noticed however that there are no running lights on the RV. All other lights work, but not the running lights. There is a broken light however on the rear. Any info on how to fix this would be great. We also have a few more questions as well as you can emagine. I am online alot due to working from home on line. Thanks in advance.

Welcome scrft0001 to irv2. Congrats on your new class C.
Your running lights are very important and need to be taken care of. You should check all the running lights for corrosion and either clean or replace. The age of coach needs it. Also check the sealant around the light for no leaks for water intrusion, bad news if that happens.
You can go to the Vintage forum above and get many pointers on redoing your C to be in top shape.
Here is a LINK TO one of our sponsors that can supply lights and many other items/
Good luck in your new past time, safe travels.

scrft0001;

Welcome to IRV2. We are happy you found us. Your post reminded me of our excitement when we purchased our first RV which was a 87 Pace Arrow. Post often and don't be afraid to ask questions. Good luck with your new to you RV.

Don

Welcome to iRV2. At that age, you should open all of the running lights, replace as necessary, clean and seal.

An older RV is a constant source of "entertainment" other wise know as maintenance.

I have replaced all of the running lights on the front of my 79 and working on the rear now. Exact replacements were not available, so it is time to adapt.

I would get a test light for a 1.99 and start at that broken tail light. A very good chance the power to the running lights comes from one of the tail lights.

scrft0001, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here. Congratulations on your new to you Class C motorhome. I am sure you will enjoy both it and this website very much. If you find you have no power check fuses with test light. You will always have to have not only power feeding apparatuses but also a good ground, so be sure to check the ground at the fixture too! Good luck and enjoy!
