New member from Alabama

Hey everybody from humid and sunny mid-Alabama.

We are full timers with three dogs, recently relocated here from the Chattanooga area due to a new job. He works. I um.......shop......and play on the internet.......and vacuum dog hair. lol

We have a 2013 fifth wheel. Got a wild hair last year to get rid of the 3000 square foot house on five acres that required too much cleaning and mowing and maintenance for two of us ...and bought an RV.
We have only had one bad campground experience, one of those "what were we thinking?" moments. Paid for 30 days, stayed 7.

Anyway, here I am.

Indeed. Lesson #1. Take the time to go in and check out the bathrooms and showers!
Lesson #2. If you aren't sure, don't pay for a month in advance. Lesson #3, if they say they "cater to dog people" take it to heart. We woke up one morning to two RVs that had come in overnight. One had TEN wire crates outside, full of Yorkies and Chihuahuas. The other RV had about seven crates full of Standard Poodles with litters of puppies.

I have three dogs. Two big mutts and one German Shepherd. I love dogs, but I like well behaved dogs. Mine are social and rarely bark. If a dog goes by they will all jump up, but not say a word. We get a lot of compliments on our dogs, they have adjusted well to life in campgrounds.

Anyway, we learn as we go.

Hi neighbors! Welcome to IRV2! We're tickled pink (well, maybe red) that you guys joined the gang here!

Come on over to Columbus and visit us sometime. We've got a great COE CG here (Dewayne Hayes). Hope you enjoy the forum!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

We have stayed at DeWayne Hayes. It is a beautiful park, very clean and really nice people!

*scampers off to see where Columbus MS is from here*

I still don't have my bearings. I know we are about 25 miles from the Georgia border to the east..........and five hours north of our eventual goal of Gulf Shores. We are two hours south of Chattanooga....and almost nine hours from our families in Missouri. But I haven't really looked west of here!

We are getting married in Fort Morgan and want to live in Gulf Shores eventually. Unfortunately, he (we) are both in the foundry industry and there are few foundries in that area.

We have discussed just living on the beach and selling tie-dye stuff. haha. Kidding.........but how fun would that be??

When we moved here we were informed that "Roll Tide" or "War Eagle" are appropriate greetings. Of course, I have to stay true to Mizzou (University of Missouri - Columbia) due to my never ending debt to them for my sons education. haha. Go Mizzou.
