New member from British Columbia (Delta)
i live full time in my creekside 18ck outdoors rv. i lived previously in a 1964 chris craft constellation 37 for eight years, until it sank after hitting a deadhead in the river,
fortunately i had the same year it sank, i bought a funfinder 16, so i moved into that for a couple years but it was to small for full timing so a few months ago i got my creekside and i am glad i did.
it is just perfect for my use with only needing one change...i would like to get rid of the jack knife sofa and get a recliner...only issue is the water tank in the front under the sofa...got to figure a way to install the recliner !!!
has anyone done such a thing ???

Looks like this? Does the tank extend across the full length of the sofa?

exactly...and the tank goes all the way across to the cabinet ... the frame above the water tank(and support for the sofa) is 15" off the floor
i would probably have to shorten the base of the recliner
i live by myself so not worried about having guests over, just looking for more comfort

I would build a platform with some dimensional lumber capable of holding your weight in the recliner. Some solid sheathing of choice. Cover it with some carpet. There would be a concern with getting ambient temps to the water tank if they left it uncovered in the first place. Do you live in a warmer climate? I think I would set the chair some what diagonally as long as your head clears the cabinets.

thanks for the reply...i did a lot of measuring and went to my buddies boat ( i still live in a marina) and measured his recliner (custom made to fit a small space) and i am pretty sure i may be putting this project aside for now as like you say building a floor (basically one step up) and then buying the recliner...this just isn't that important and out of my budget
i can think of other things i could buy, like fuel and travel insurance and .....
