Welcome fellow Canadians, from Ontario.
Western Canada is on my short list, but in the summer.
Winters are tough here in Ontario but you guys out in Alberta get it a bit worse I think.
Also waiting to pull the pin on a warm winter, a few years away.

don't be afraid to head west to the Island just off the coast. We went over to the far side and toured the wave events between Ucluelet and Tofino and were really pleased with the wave watching. It snowed today and my lawns still green but some of the passes between here and there were a tad snowy.

As you can see that the weather gets a little worse the further east you go.

Also there are great wintering sites all along the Island that seldom get very much snow. Living Forest just across town from me Welcome to the Living Forest Oceanside Campground + RV Park on Vancouver Island is a cool place to be summer and winter. If you care to visit.
