Hi all. We are looking forward to getting to know you and picking your brains on all sorts of questions.
We pick up our new to us RV on Saturday. Just trading up from a much older, 28 foot Class C to a 2003 - 34 foot Class A, so I know we will have lots to learn.
One thing we still haven't made up our minds about. We have until Saturday morning to decide if we want to purchase (for $3000 incl taxes) an extended warrantee for four years. It has a $200 deductible on any repairs.
Have any of you bought these types of warrantees or not bought and wish that you had.
Any input - quickly - would be appreciated as we are going around in circles on this.

Anne & Gib;

Welcome to iRV2. We are glad you joined us. Post often and share your travel experiences with us. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

As to your question on extended warranty, I believe there is no set answer to it. I purchased one when I purchased my Chieftain. I have had a couple of small claims where paid promptly but if I had to do it over I would take the money and put it in an interest bearing account and pay any covered repairs out of the fund. If I did not blow an engine or transmission I would be money ahead. It is a calculated risk for both parties.

The more we look into the extended and think about our past experience with a much older unit, we are leaning towards doing just that.
thanks,
