I have had most of the RV's in the last 45 years.
I had several new units that promised good mileage and never happened.
Even th infamous V-10 that was supposed to get 9.5 + (got 6.0-6.5)
I finally rebuilt a 78 Honey 4bbl carb and all and got 6.2 best.
Sold it, quit RVing. Next bought a 19 ft Falcon that we really liked, and got 12.0 or so MPG. BUT, weight distribution was bad as rear end weight 4k and front 2k, A good wind and front wheels off ground!
Sold it!
Recently found a 1980 Travelcraft . Drove like a dream, but needed a lot of TLC. I have to say I have really enjoyed the room and fixing it up so far. Previous owner did nothing and even left the rear roof vent wide open in bad weather. Bathroom was trashed! I have before and after pics that
you might enjoy. Most of my expense is just labor and I am in no hurry.
Will probably set up a Travelcraft forum here and also a Travelcraft website. These vehicles were really made WELL. Has a 400 cu chevy engine that NOW runs like new- (guy only had 7 plug wires connected)
Still trying to figure out all the propane items and bled all the lines due to empty tank. Anyway, ask if I can help and I will do the same.
This looks like a great site!
Don
