Hey Folks, I see I'm supposed to check in oops... already made few posts.
My wife (Chris) and I (John) just got a 1998 American Dream coach last Sunday and have been learning what all the switches, valves etc. Also fixing odds and ends problems, but we're making progress.
We're both looking forward to using the coach to tow our race car to the track and for doing a bit of traveling. I work from home and as long as I have Internet I can make a living while out on the road. Already done a bunch of research in to adding Cell Boosters, Wifi systems etc. to the coach, just need to setup a desk of some sort to work from and we can be MOBILE, sounds like so much fun.
Nice forum here, I've already learned so much from previous posts, great technical resource!

Welcome. In Kansas and adjacent midwest states, Verizon has the best rural coverage. Verizon bought the old Alltel and Kansas Cellular Networks many years ago. The most cost effective way to get a Verizon Jetpack if you don't want to tie up a Verizon phone for use as a hotspot is to buy a Jetpack at Walmart then set up your prepaid plan on the web.
Your RV has very little metal in the roof and walls to interfere with Cell Phone Signals so I suggest you try just the Jetpack without any boosters for a while. I found that if signal was weak I could quickly figure out which window it picked up best in. The WiFi signal it puts out is plenty strong to cover the entire inside of an RV no matter where it is.

Thanks for the tips - we have Verizon, but haven't bought a Jetpack yet. I know I'm going to have to do something as a few of the locations we go to frequently in Missouri have a very weak cell signal. I'll for sure need a booster and external antenna, not sure if on top of the RV will be enough to help or not.
Thanks for the warm welcomes...
