I have been reading a lot of the posts in various forums and thought I should commit and join the community. Basically, my wife and I started RV'ing in 2005 when we got our 1986 Komfort MH. It was theiir flagship model that year and had been taken care of fairly well and needed only one major repair per year we had it. Just the regular stuff--transmission rebuild; replace the exhaust system from headers (which were milled) back; the hydro-boost failing which applied the brakes and warped the rotors; the generator fell out on I-10 in New Orleans, well just one side. Lots of sparks. Roadside assistance and Good Sam ERS took it rest of way out, set it in the back seat of the toad and off we went again. It has found a home with our son who is using it to live in weekends while he is building a cabin. We bought our '03 Mountain Aire in Aug. 09 from a couple who took excellent care of it and with only 14,000 miles. It now has 28,000+ miles and other than a new slide topper, no problems which has produced a lot of smiles from mama and me. We snowbirded (if that's a word) in Texas last winter but are staying home and enjoying the snow this year! We are members of a local Good Sam club and just enjoy taking off on trips for a week, or two, or more. Can't wait until spring. Again, I enjoy the forums and am learning a lot.

Welcome. I would say that you have had more than enough excitement to qualify you for RVing

Sorry to hear about your problems with your first MH. If that would have happened to me I probably would not have a MH anymore. I also am looking forward to getting on the road again. My DW says I have a bad case of cabin fever. Post often and share your RV travel adventures with us. Enjoy the forums and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Welcome richvkansas,
Glad to hear that you're enjoying your Mountain-Air. It's cold in Kansas so why don't you crank that diesel up and join us at the FMCA rally in Perry, GA the middle of next month. The weather has been nice the two rallies that I attended there.
